After years of showing up, speaking out, and pushing back, we’ve reached a big moment in the fight against the J7 Ready Mix concrete batch plant planned for the Burleson/Rendon area.
This isn’t just another update. This is where things start getting real.
A Quick Reminder on What This Is About
J7 wants to build a concrete batch plant right next to neighborhoods where families live.
That means:
Dust in the air (including silica, which can be harmful to breathe)
Constant truck traffic
Noise, early mornings, late nights
A big industrial operation where people expected homes and quiet
For a lot of us, this is about protecting our health, our property, and the place we call home.
Where We Are Now
We were granted a contested case hearing — which means we now get to challenge this in a real legal setting.
The first step is the preliminary hearing on May 26, 2026. You can see a copy of the notice here:
At that hearing, the judge will:
Confirm who is officially part of the case
Set the timeline moving forward
Handle the legal setup for everything that comes next
If you received a notice in the mail, make sure you’ve looked it over.
What Comes Next
After that, we move into the evidentiary hearing.
This is the big one.
It works a lot like a trial:
Evidence is presented
Experts may speak
Both sides make their case
This is where decisions really start to take shape.
Expected cost: over $45,000
Where the Money Is Going
We want to be clear about this:
The money we raised earlier is still in the account.
That is what we are using to pay the attorney for the preliminary hearing.
That support got us to this point. It mattered.
Now we need to get ready for what’s next.

Why This Is Urgent
We’re on a tight timeline leading up to May 26.
There’s no “we’ll deal with it later” anymore.
The legal work is happening now, and the next phase comes quickly after.
If we want to be ready and put up a strong fight, we need support now.
